We came here for dinner while visiting from Essex hoping to find somewhere that served high-quality food and we absolutely found it. The food was exceptional and honestly felt like something you’d expect from a top steak restaurant in London. We love fine dining and this place completely delivered. We had the châteaubriand and it was perfect cooked beautifully and full of flavour. The sides were generous and just as delicious. It was so good that during our two-night stay in Epworth, we ate here both nights! Even our friends, who lived in Epworth for six years and had never been before, said they’ll definitely be coming back. The owner was so lovely, taking the time to come over and personally check we enjoyed our meals, which was such a nice touch. The staff were all friendly and welcoming too. Pie was delicious and the salmon encoute    with home made dauphinoise potatoes  was beautiful  and all cooked to perfection . The homemade sticky toffee pudding was a delight served with both custard and ice cream . Staff were so friendly and  helpful , overall  a fab night with friends and shall definitely be returning  soon Thank you White Bear .

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We booked last minute on a Saturday in December and were greeted with the most beautifully decorated pub. It felt warm, cosy and so festive: after a Christmas cocktail each we sat down for our meal. Knowing the portions at the white bear are always so generous we shared a starter of garlic mushrooms. Beautiful! We treated ourselves for main and had the Chateaubriand which was Devine; the meat melted in your mouth, the mash was at a guess nearly 50% butter and the veg was perfectly cooked. We followed with a desert each which again were perfect and comforting. The drinks were also of great quality and the service was friendly and informal while remaining professional. Deffo can’t wait to go back in the new year and make this our new regular go to for a meal.
